About Sliding
Sliding windows open by moving one sash horizontally past another, rather than swinging outward. Because nothing projects outside the frame, they work well on balconies, walkways, or anywhere an outward-opening sash would be in the way.
They typically have a larger glass-to-frame ratio than casement windows of the same size, since there's no need for hinge hardware — often a plus for the view and for natural light.
