The document that actually matters: GST registration
A genuine, GST-registered business is the single clearest sign you're dealing with an established fabricator rather than an unregistered operator. Ask for their GSTIN and check that the business name on the certificate matches the name on your quote — a mismatch is worth asking about directly before you commit to anything.
Get more than one quote
Prices, lead times, and even recommended specifications can vary meaningfully between fabricators for the exact same job. Getting two or three quotes for the same opening sizes and product isn't about squeezing the lowest price out of someone — it's about having a real basis for comparison instead of taking one number at face value.
Ask exactly what's included
"Supply and installation" can mean different things to different fabricators. Before agreeing to anything, get clear on:
- Whether removal and disposal of old windows/doors is included
- Whether the quote covers just the frame and glazing, or also grilles, mesh, and hardware upgrades
- What the warranty actually covers — the profile (frame) and the glazing are sometimes warrantied separately, on different terms
- Expected installation timeline, and what happens if it runs over
Warranty terms, in writing
A verbal warranty promise is worth asking to see in writing. Reputable fabricators typically provide warranty documentation covering the profile and, separately, the installation workmanship — since a well-made window installed poorly can still leak or fail at the frame junction.

A verified listing means a fabricator's GST registration has been checked and a real contact person has been confirmed — it's a real, meaningful screening step, but it isn't the same as an independent inspection of their actual workmanship.
